Del Webb is Pulte’s Active Adult (Over 55) brand for home building. If you’re reading this than no doubt you already know the brand and their reputation. Active adult communities are very popular all across the country and Del Webb is likely building in your area. Del Webb’s communities are popular because they often include amazing amenities packages only found when you retire to Florida or in a larger community with no age restrictions.
Del Webb communities can be found in all of the best states to retire to, but also in some of the best cities in the worst states to retire to. Essentially, they are everywhere retirees want to be.
Often people refer to Del Webb communities as living on a land cruise, because most Del Webb’s have an activity director. Before we dive into the locations for you, it’s worth noting that Del Webb actually have set up ways for you “try it before you buy it.” Many Del Webb communities have the option to stay overnight in one of their model homes. Before you sign up for these short vacations, we recommend talking with an independent real estate agent. Pulte is known as an aggressive builder brand and often they will do things to cut a real estate agent out. Yes, everyone wants to cut out Realtors to save on commission, but in the builder’s case, they are often trying to keep you unrepresented. It’s less headaches for them overall and most home buyers don’t ask any questions. It’s best to have at least one person on your side that does real estate full time to protect your interest.
Almost all Del Webb communities will have amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, baseball or basketball courts, tennis, walking trails, ponds and of course a community center. Instead of listing those same amenities on each Del Webb community, we’ll only mention the highlights or exceptions. Also, don’t be fooled by Del Webb’s website which will often list Pulte communities that are not even active adult communities!
